You cannot compare yourself to others and there are no concrete
amounts....I lost 20 lbs the first month but I am a lightweight. Other
factors include how much you need to lose, how quickly you gained your
weight, how active you are, etc. etc. My doctor said about 10-13 lbs a
month after the first month so I guess you can base it on that.

Just remember, everyone loses at different rates so don't take ANY of these
answers as what "should be." That said, I had surgery on June
7th and have lost 31 pounds as of today. I am sure there have been people
who have lost quicker than this, but for me, 31 pounds in 36 days is
fantastic!

It depends on what surgery you are having, and also, we are all different.
I had lap band on 2-2-07, had my firs fill on 3-15-07, and as of today 4
months out from my first fill, I am officially down 105 lbs and went from a
size 26-28 to a comfortable 16-18. But, I was very strict with my self, and
I learned to absolutely LOVE water. I don't crave food anymore, I crave
water. Best of luck. We are all anxious... but it all comes in time. We all
plateau, we all have good days and bad, but the thing to remember is that
even through all the bad, the good is just so much better. Life is
Beautiful again. I found the old me and traded in the obese, unhappy,
depressed pain in the rear, and found out that the happy me was still in
there. It is so worth every bit of blood sweat and tears we go through to
in the end, look in the mirror and to be able to say that you like your
self again...U can do IT!!!

Hi Anna, I can tell you exactly what you are gonna lose. Just exactly the
amount you are supposed to. If you drink water, eat your protein and
exercise with vigor (lightly to begin with, and increase in routine and
vigor), then you will be so happy with all your results. If you try to
pretend that surgery will do the work for you, you will whine and complain
and not be happy no matter how much you lose. Which one are you? Are you
parpared for the tast, and how are you prepared? It doesn't matter the
number, but the fight for the weight loss and health, that matters. Put on
your fight girl, and get ready for the ride of your life. Take care.

Everyone is different and no one can tell how much you will lose. During
your first month of recovery -- don't worry about losing just do what your
surgeon advise. The weight will come off -- how much -- let your body tell
you.

I have only lost 6 pounds after the 1st month. But at least it is coming
off gradually. It took so many years to put the weight on, it will take
time for it to come off. I am glad it is coming off rather than putting it
on.

I HAD THE LAP BAND ON JUNE 25TH AND I HAVE LOST 20 POUNDS SO FAR. NOW THAT
I AM EATING SOME SOLIDS THE WEIGHT LOSS HAS SLOWED IF NOT STOPPED. MY 1ST
FILL IS ON AUGUST 1ST SO I AM HOPING THAT THINGS WILL PICK UP THEN. BUT
YES EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, THE FACT IS THAT IT WILL WORK!

Keep in mind that everyone is different. I lost 31lbs in my 1st three
weeks. I'm 2 months out and I've lost a total of 35lbs. I've been hitting
the gym hard, so I think I've built up muscle. Remember muscle weighs
almost 3 times as fat. Look at how your clothes fit better, not the scale.
