Congrats on our surgery. One of the most important things you need to know
is your body. Only you know if you had this before surgery. Those of us
that answer questions are volunteers, and only have the knowledge of our
own experiences. I have not heard of anything like that, but everyones
body does different things

This sounds much like circulation problems... I would call the doc! You are
amazing.... Keep up the goals!
Lets us know what happens from this...
It is important to free your mind, it very well could be nothing!
Rest your mind. call before they go home for the weekend!

I don't know about normal but this same thing happened to me, and the doc
said to give it a few weeks and see if it gets better/worse. Sure enough it
went away in a couple of weeks. Like others have said, everyone is
different so best to check with the doc. Congrats on your surgery!

Best to call your surgeon but minor nerve damage from being strapped
securely to the OR table is very common. My backside was numb for a couple
months, it gradually went away. Any kind of sitting was uncomfy. Hard to
believe that was over 5 years ago

I have had and still have this same problem. I have found that the
straighter I sit up the less my legs fall asleep. Sounds funny but it
works.

Hi Ive,
Yes, so soon after surgery it is very normal for parts of your body to be
numb and tingling. Make sure you keep a mental note of it though, and if
it gets worse, tell your doctor! (So soon after surgery it could turn out
to be a clot, so keep a very close eye on it)
As for me, my legs still go numb a bit when I use the restroom in the
mornings. I am nearly 11 months out from my WLS.) I attribute it to I
wake up, and go to the toliet, and then sit there for 20 minuts! LOL Of
course my legs would be tingly/still asleep! If I use the restroom for an
extended period of time during the day, this doesn't happen. It's only in
the mornings for me.
But as for right after surgery, and up until about 1-2 months post-op,
everything was numb and tingly at various times. (Especially my thighs,
butt and the area that was worked on [my tummy]) It's all very normal.
Just watch for signs of clots in those legs, and KEEP MOVING!
Love to you,
