Question:
What is making me lose weight to fast?
I went to the Dr. yesterday and he said I was way ahead of schedule on weight loss. I'm 3 weeks post-op and have lost 42 lbs. I eat 5 times a day and drink protein shakes once a day only and lots of water. I feel great. What am I doing wrong? — Deborah Joyner (posted on March 16, 2006)

As long as you're taking your vitamins, getting your calcium and protein,
choosing the right foods and continue with the water, you're doing nothing
wrong. You're just one of the lucky ones! :) I would suggest that you
start a good strength training program right now, though, to make sure you
don't lose too much muscle mass during the loss. Good luck!

considering your starting bmi - I don't think your doing anything wrong.
The heavier you are the more you'll loose at the beginning.

with a start BMI of 71 your doing fine! Do NOT try to slow your loss!! get
out and walk exercise as much as you can.

If it helps, I started at over 510 pounds (BMI was over 61). I lost over
90 pounds the first month and was very healthy. Sometimes, we get lucky
and our bodies kick into ketosis quickly. Of course, don't undermine your
efforts by trying to eat more to slow down the weight loss-- you don't want
to re-introduce old bad habits that will frustrate your ultimate weight
maintenance efforts.
