Question:
I know that the surgeon gives you a date, but can you possibly change

it to a potential date that is best for you?    — hartnell (posted on February 18, 2006)

If your approved and the date the surgeon gives you isnt good for you just call their office manager and see what date is available for both you and the surgeon

I was originally given a date of Feb 8. But due to hubby's work schedule it was putting his job in jeopardy so I scheduled for the 14th instead. There is no harm in asking is what I would think. Lois

1000 people say ok on the forum, but if the scheaduling clerk for the surgeon says no, thats the answer, why do u ask that question here.

Walter - grow up! We are encouraged to come here with any questions, so deal with it. He is right though only your surgical scheduler will be able to help you. But it is nice to know that other people have had the same issues isn't it? Good luck to you on getting your date changed. God bless.

When they called to tell me I was approved she actually gave me a bunch of dates to choose from that were days he did surgery. So I actually choose my date. Good Luck Denise

When I was approved they gave me a date at the beginning of this month I told them that wouldn't work cause my parents who will be keeping my kids were tied up with a huge church fundraiser at that time. So basically I picked my date were there was no conflict with anything. I was told the days of the week he did surgury so it doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck. I'm packing to leave now for my sugury.

In most cases the scheduler will give you the next available date. You can tell them at that time whether it will work for you or not. In my case I needed to move my date up because of my insurance changing on the date of my surgery. I did not know this until after I choose the date and notified work I would be out. I called the office to see if they could move it up a week to make sure there was no problems with the insurance claims. They were able to help me and I was very grateful for this. All I could think of was fighting insurances to pay for their portion of my stay....two days with one insurance, one day with another....I saw it as a nightmare! Glad they helped. All you have to do is explain your situation, and I am very sure they will accomodate if they can. You are the customer.

Yes, call the office and find a date that works for you both.
