Question:
Swimming?

How soon after surgery did you go swimming? Or if you haven't gone, how soon do you suppose one should wait?    — A. Me (posted on March 2, 2010)

I went swimming about 9 weeks out. I do know that you need to wait until all incisions are fully healed or you can get a bad infection. Hope that helps.

I had surgery 6/11/2009 and went swimming by end of July - about 5 weeks post-op. I waited for incisions to heal. Best of luck to you!

My Dr. told me to wait six weeks after surgery, but you must ask your Dr.

It depends on which incision was made for the surgery. Open it is suggested two weeks as Laproscopic it is suggested a couple of days. As long as nothing is oozzing from the incision.

Surgeon and nurse both agreed...wait 8 weeks to prevent any infections (you know how public pools can be...).
