From the first visit, all the specialist's co-pays; what insurance did not cover and the hospital would not eat and the surgery mine was about 31,000.00 dollars.

Depends upon your doctor and the hospital. I think it's typically about $25,000. Check with your surgeon as most of them have special programs for cash paying patients.

Also, consider bartering with your surgeon. My friend has no hospitalization insurance and had to have a hip replacement. Her husband is a carpenter and he did some carpentry work for the surgeon in exchange for his wife's surgery.

It is completely dependant on the surgeon. Some don't even have cash pay discounts, but for those that do, the price range can vary significantly.

I was supposed to have RNY in the Dominican Republic for right at 11,000. for everthing.. Doctor, hospital, anesthesia (sp) and hotel. My total stay was one week. I ended up changing my procedure to the sleeve for my medical conditions.. he was afraid my hernia may be in the part of intestines that needed to be rerouted and would cause further complications. I am very pleased and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. I had the sleeve procedure on 6/17/2009 and have lost 97lbs thus far, Good luck and don't give up I went thru this for 6 years before we were able to self pay!

I had complications, an allergic reaction to the anti blood clotting medication they give as standard procedure. Blood clot in the abdomen made it necessary for surgeon to go in a second time the next day. Between doctors and hospital, approximately $90,000.

I live in Monterrey, Mexico, (Baptist Missionaries), and Dr. Roberto Rumbaut did mine. It cost $14,000 back in April 2009. However he just cuoted my sister the price of $13,000 for next March. He is an excellent doctor...one of the top in his field. He does the lapband for $4,000 I believe, although I am not very sure about this amount. You can look him up online. Just Google Roberto Rumbaut Monterrey Mexico. Very impressive. I hope the best for you. Oh, I believe his price includes the hotel where you will be staying...first class. My sister will be staying with me, so...
