Question:
Is there anyone out there willing to share their story/be interviewed?
I am co-authoring a book on lap band success meant to educate and inspire others considering the decision to band. I am in need of 12 persons willing to be interviewed regarding their experience with lap banding and weight loss. They should be folks, men or women, who have experienced success, but not necessarily without problems along the way. The book will not promote or advertize any one procedure, product or practitioner, but will be meant to enlighten and encourage. There will be no payment offered for interviews, but subjects will be given a copy of the book if they desire one. I hope you can help me out. I am having a hard time locating people through the internet. — lauriejp (posted on June 11, 2009)

Brandi- That is wonderful progress :). I actually do need lapbanders for
interviewing. It is so nice of you to offer.
Have you shared your story anywhere? It sounds like you've really made a
good choice and are headed towardyour goal. Thank you so much for the
offer.

Laurie, you should post this question on the Lap-Band Forum. I'm having
RnY tomorrow, so I can't help. Good luck, I'm sure you will find the people
you need on that Forum.

Hello, I am 17 days post op lap band. I live in Oklahoma City. I am a 53
year old female. I may not be far enough along in my progress to be a
person you would need now however if you are interested in getting the
story of a person who struggled with obesity their entire life, I will be
willing to be the inspiration for the over 50 group. I am sure that there
are a lot of people who may think it is too late for them to have the
surgery because of their age or they may have just given up on the hope of
ever being average weight. Maybe my story and journey will inspire them to
go forward with the surgery. If you would like to contact me my e-mail
address is [email protected].
Thanks, Karen

HI Laurie - I am willing to be interviewed. I am 1 year out lapband. I have
lost 75 lbs. and have experienced some bumps in the road (plateaus, PB,
some stuck episodes, etc) but do this over again in a hearbeat! I have
been off track (reason for the plateau) and have finally gotten back on
track and am losing again! So yes, I would love to help you out! A free
book is always welcome!

I had lapband on March 26 and I've lost 25 lbs. I'm thrilled with the
results as I already feel so much better. I would be a willing interviewee
if you need someone at the beginning of their journey.

I am willing to share my story. I had Lapband surgery January 23, 2008. I
have lost about 60 pounds and am still losing. I had some complications due
to birth control that hindered my weight loss the first year. Please send
me a message if you are interested in my story....Christy
