I would just avoid the things that make the ulcers flare (tomato products, citrus, caffeine, etc). What meds have you tried? You react to them all? Prevacid solutabs have worked wonders for me, along with the dreaded carafate.

I had ulcers from H-pylori, I had to take anti-biotics for two weeks, and have to take prilosec for the rest of my life now. When I forget to take it, I get a flair. See your doctor. You could have H-pylori. I got it at 8 months out. Good luck! Lesleigh

Cindy, I can't stress enough how important it is to see your doctor about this. My father bled from an ulcer and was very sick

i had a bleeding marginal ulcer, which is a rare complication after rny. mine was 4 yrs out. it was at the anastamosis site from my pouch to my small intestine. i required several transfusions. i was on carafate 4x a day as well as protonix. i took the carafate for 2-3 months until the ulcer healed and was told i would need to be on protonix (or similar proton pump inhibitor) for life. an ulcer is not something you play around with. it needs to be treated.
