Question:
What can I bring to a party?
I am going to a party on Saturday. I know there is going to be a ton of food I shouldn't eat. I want to bring something that I know I can eat. Any suggestions on what I can bring or a website I can find healthy receipes? — amylbarron (posted on March 5, 2009)

A cheese and meat platter is the easy thing. You can do the little meat
rolls. You take a slice of salami or other meat and roll it around some
cream cheese and peppers. Put a toothpick in it and all done.

How about hummus and pita chips. Dead easy to buy or make, and easy for
our tender digestive systems. /Mike

I like to bring chicken wing dip and wheat crackers to places I go. Its
real easy:
2 cans white chicken meat...or debones chicken
1 package cream cheese
1/2 bottle hot sauce.( to taste)
1/3 cup ranch dressing --I prefer a lil more
and top with shredded cheese-anything you like
mix well spread into a 9x13 or 8 x 11, and bake at 350 for 20 mins or until
cheese is melted and golden. I serve it with soy chips or wheat crackers.
Enjoy!

I make a three bean salad that everyone seems to like and it goes well with
many things...I drain three cans of different beans...garbonzo, black
beans, pink pintos...cut up sweet red peppers, onions if you like, fresh
cilantro and toss with a vinegar and olive oil (salt and peper to
taste)...It's colorful, tasty and full of protein...You can use different
beans or veggies as well for color and flavor too...There are other
alternatives as well....I will cook some barley and add garbanzo beans and
white beans, maybe some quinoa as well...add the olive oil and vinegar and
some parm cheese and feta cheese crumbles...with chopped red and green
peppers...Or make a giant antipasta (meats, cheeses and veggies) Or bring
a shrimp cocktail if it's people you don't mind spending a little extra on!
DEFINITELY go to eggfaces blog as well like others recommended!...JUST
because I think everyone needs to experience this awesome lady!

Deviled eggs are always a good choice. I have a couple of favorite recipes
from Susan Maria's Before and After book that everyone loves. Asian
Meatballs and Hot Artichoke Dip always go over well.
Best of luck and have fun,

chopped red bellpeppers, edamame (soybeans) are some of my favorite
snacks/party foods... also another trick you may want to try is to brush
your teeth right before you leave your home to go to the party... when your
teeth are just cleaned/brushed, it will cut down on the impulse snacking.
Have a good time :)

That depends on where you are on your diet plan. The first time I brought
something to a pot luck, I was on my soft foods. So I brought a whole
wheat pasta salad, dressed with a diet cheese salad dressing. It had
partially cooked brocolli, red bell peppers, boiled egg quarters, purple
onion, and a dash of parmesean cheese. Everyone raved about it and no one
suspected just how healthy it was!
