Hi, I'm an RNYer but it seems to me, most of the concerns would be the same
in an emergency situation. You don't want them sticking something into
your pouch that may puncture it. I wrote "Gastric Bypass, DO NOT
insert NG tube". Hope you get more answers.

I also had the RNY..my bracelet reads: On the front: My name, RNY Gastric
Bypass, phone number for the hospital that I had my surgery done (ER
Number) On the back it reads: my husbands name and phone number and cell
phone number, No Blind NG Tube, No NSAIDS and No Sugar, my doctors name and
phone number. All of this on one regular medical silver bracelet with the
medical logo. I got mine online for around $15.00 I will wear it
religiously, as I have had to go to the hospital for dehydration and was
terribly weak and they read the instructions and did not give me in the
IV's any NSAIDS....I feel VERY safe with this bracelet. I also have a card
in my wallet with all the same information.

I have seen many of these bracelets. Some people put all kinds of info on
them, some just put the fact that they have had WLS/ their surgeon's name
and for emergency personnel not to try to do blind NG tubes. Of course if
you have diabetes, asthma, allergies, seizures, etc. that's good to have
there as well. Having been an ER nurse in the past, these are invaluable.
I have bought them as gifts for people in my support group from Lauren's
Hope... you can get pretty beads and all kinds of different choices. I
bought dog tag type necklaces for my children, really cute and functional
for my son as he has kidney stones and is allergic to Bactrim. I
discovered the Lauren's Hope bracelets and necklaces when on the
Bariatriceating.com website.
Good luck,
