Question:
Possible pregnancy
I had sex 6/21/08 which turned out to be 1 day after ovulation (yes, it was unprotected with my boyfriend). I'm scared to death I might be pregnant and so mad at myself for letting it happen that way. I wasn't worried until I looked at an ovulation calander and realized how close I was. I'm only 3 months out from my rny. Am I worrying over nothing or is there a valid link between wls and new found fertility? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. — pixiegirl27 (posted on June 23, 2008)

Yeah WLS makes infertile women baby makers. Dont worry if you are pregnant
its very manegable with proper vitamins and monitoring. Our support group
has many children from your sort of situation, all are fine and beautiful.
If the pregnancy test comes back positive, call your surgeon immediately,
and they can refer you to the proper doctors. we never had kids, you are
very blessed:)

A lot of women malabsorb their birthcontrol pills...and find themselves
pregnant...You might want to start reading at the pregnancy forum. Good
luck!

Well as you know there is always a chance of getting pregnant when you
aren't using anything. Lots of Post op patients get pregnant after surgery
but it's not the healthiest time due to the changes you are going through.
You should check out the pregnancy forum but if you aren't trying to get
pregnant on purpose you should be using a contraceptive each time. A friend
of mine got pregnant 7 months post op and she never lost as much weight as
she though she should. Take good care of yourself. Good luck!

yes, there is a very real connection with weight loss and pregnancy. i
conceived both of my children after losing some weight. My first was after
trying to conceive for 12 yrs and being told i couldn't have children. I
lost 35lbs and got preg. Boom! My second was when my son was 8, and i was
newly remarried for 9 mths, lost 45 lbs, and Boom! preggers again (at 40yrs
old). I had been having unprotected sex for all those yrs in between and
didn't conceive. The body is flooded with hormones which are stored in our
fat. When we lose the fat the hormones go crazy. Good luck and God bless.
