Question:
clarifaction on puree foods
I am 3 weeks post of lap rny. i would like to start purees early by 1 day. I have been on full liquids for 2 weeks and clear for 1 week before that. do u think it will effect me? The only reason for doing so is that my hubby can be with me in case something goes wrong. — bikermama (posted on May 24, 2008)

I don't know about that, I had LapBand so the post op diet was completely
different. Having said that, I tend to follow and encourage others to
follow the guidelines set by their surgeon/nutritionist. The have set the
timelines for a reason.
Is your husband only going to be home for that one day or what is the
significance of that statement?
Good luck,

I think you'll be fine. Ordinarily I would say not to deviate from what
the doctor says, but ONE day is not going to make a difference.

Som wait and need extra time to change to the next stage, but if you feel
you are ready for the change one day will not make a difference. Go for it
and enjoy. There is not a great deal of difference except more things are
added, but when they are pureaed, they are just like a liquid. make sure
to use lots of broth. Seasioning is OK, so get it to your taste. Remember
to start to chew, even if it is just mush, you need to get to the stage
that when you got to soft solids you chew enought. Best of success toy
you.

I don't think one day will make that big of a difference. Here is a puree
food tip for you. You know those crock pot dinners with beef, carrots and
potatoes -- cook that and put about a 1/4 or 1/2 cup in the blender
--without the potatoes --that way you can your husband can have the same
dish -- only his want be pureed.
