You really don't need to. Roxicet is liquid, sugar free Percocet. Ask your doctor about it.

Yes you can but you need to break them up into 4 pieces per pill or smaller.

Yes, but you will need to crush them for the first month like I did. I take norco, oxy, flex, vic and some time morphine. I have been on these for like 5 years due to my back. I don't have to crush them any more. I had gastric bypass on 09-04-07 and only crushed them for about a month.

Be careful about breaking them. Some types of Percocet are designed to desolve slowly over time and the manufacturer warns that breaking them can cause problems. Look up the recomendation on your scripts website. Mine say do not break ever.

Hi H. If you have taken percocet in the past, then it will work for you again after surgery. I don't know if you are asking if the pain meds you come home on will be percocet, or if you can take it regular instead of motrin and such. The first is true, you can and probably will take it after surgery. I did not have to cut mine at all, just swallow, and it was fine. I use percocet for pain when it is bad, but not regularly. It is habitforming, so regular use is not a good idea. I find it amazing how much less medication I need after losing all my weight, I am 4 years out in March. I use one extra strength tylenol now instead of two, I have not needed motrin at all, and after surgeries I use the percocet. You don't indicate anything on your profile, so I don't know your age or your story, but I hope this helps. Patricia P.

They were giving me percocet in the hospital. I took it my first night home, but haven't since. I found extra strength liquid tylenol worked just as good. I am 3 days post lap rny and the last tylenol I took was at 10:30 yesterday morning. My pain is very minimal. Good luck to you.

Hi, You need to crush all your pills for 3 months, so buy a plastic pill crusher for a couple of bucks. You put the pills in , put the top on and screw on the top until they crush. I tried mixing the pills with stuff but it just prolonged the ugh factor, so I pour the powder onto a creased piece of paper and pour tit into my mouth and wash it down with water or juice.

Don't cut them in two, this creates jagged edges that will hurt going down. Just take them whole. This also prevents nausea. I took them for the first week I was home as well as in the hospital. If you break them up they can also change the way your food tastes.

i was also sent home on percocet and i took them whole in sugar free pudding- it worked for me. i couldn't take them without the pudding because they felt like they were getting hung in my throat. my doctor never told me to crush any of my meds and i have done fine. good luck, hope this helps..Holly
