Question:
Do you think Star Jones had gastric bypass?? Thoughts?
And if she did why do you think she's hiding the fact that she did?? — Julie H. (posted on July 17, 2007)

she an idiot.. but seriously probably for the same reason others don't tell
people.

I THINK SHE DID, SHE IS AN ATTORNEY AND I THINK THAT SHE DOESN'T WANT
EVERYONE TO THINK IT IS A QUICK FIX. I HEARD THAT SHE IS GOING TO ANNOUNCE
HOW SHE LOST THE WEIGHT ON HER NEW SHOW (ON COURT TV) NEXT MONTH AND IN AN
AUGUST MAGAZINE.

Star Jones has already said that she did have weight loss surgery. As for
why she "hid" it initially...probably for the same reasons a lot
of people don't say anything about it...WLS is a very personal decision and
really no one's business.

I was going to comment on her today. I saw her with her new look talking
about her new show on one of the news magazines shows. She looked really
good. Anyways they did mention she had some kind of gastric surgery to lose
weight.

Of course she did!! The only way she could get her "drumsticks"
(legs) thin. I don't know why people keep it a BIG secret when it is so
obvious they took a drastic step to get healthy. I am proud I did. Would do
it again too!! Mickey.........

She want say because then people will not purchase her book. She had it
and I don't know why shes doesn't say so. Maybe she doesn't want to be
considered the poster child for WLS.

I was under the impression she had the lap band but dont know for sure.

Very obviously SHE DID and why she is denying it is because she is a LOSER!
In all senses. She is trying to make it look like she has absolute control
over her eating, etc. She is an out of control, wannabe diva who needs a
knock up side her head. Dislike her immensely

Maybe she kept it a secret because people like us seem to have nothing
better to do but watch the stars get fat and thin! Look how the press
constantly hounds Oprah! I would NOT want the public watching my weight
all the time. Our society is way to obsessed with weight and looks and too
many people seem to get satisfaction out of seeing others fail. Whether we
like her or dislike her, she's a person entitled to her own privacy and can
do what she wants. I wish her all the best and am happy for her new found
health as I am happy for everyone on this site who has finally taken the
big step toward a healthier lifestyle. Here's to ALL of us! May be live
healthier, happier and longer lives because of our decision to have
surgery!

I'm glad this type of question has come up. I wasnt sure that I wanted to
tell anyone I am having surgery, I thought it was just because I havent
been approved yet ....now i wonder if its a pride thing? Do I want people
to think I have control over my eating? Do I think there is some kind of
shame in this? Have I been jealous of other people?........Your question
has brought me to some soul searching and I appreciate that!! As far as
star jones goes I kinda thought she got some attitude with her weight loss,
and I definately dont want that to happen to me........I know we change
physically and mentally we have to, its a new lifestlye, but emotionally
the same person. I will certainly be more aware of MY OWN self. I'm
having this surgery because if i dont i will surely die. I LOVE YOU GUYS
FOR THE SUPPORT YOU GIVE, THANK YOU!

She has admitted she did and said that she kept it a secret because she is
a star in the limelight and did not want to create a trend or have people
follow suit just cause she did it as its a serious operation and the
decision is not to be made lightly... A little bit of an ego maybe but wise
as well because some people may see her and say well if she can do it maybe
I can to...

Maaaaaaaan she had the surgery...I was looking in the enquirer one time
where they had all the stars w/their bathing suits on ya know (and btw I'm
soooo glad I'm not a celebrity), and she was in a 2-piece hot pink
swimsuit. Now I looked @ her stomach and saw the lap- scars. I didn't
tell anyone either lol people have a way of trying to talk you outta
something when its a personal thing. They can have their opinions, but
ultimately its up to the person getting it.

Like the rest of Hollywood, Star's whole decision on now I want to talk
about my weight loss, is just another publicity stunt. Most celebrities do
it, when they've fell under the radar for a little bit of time. This is a
way for everyone to focus in on her new show (ratings), so she doesn't get
tossed to the side like she did on the The View. It's obvious she's had the
surgery, but now she has the attention of viewers, to see when will she
announce it.

I agree with someone that said that having the WLS is a very personal
decision and not everyone's business. I am only telling CLOSE family and
friends. After surgery I will tell others but until the surgery it is
something for me and my family.

Judging Ms. Jone's very conservative nature, I would find it hard to
believe that she would go through with Gastric bypass surgery, however, I
think she would go for the lap-band as it's reversible and an easy in and
out. I had mine and was back at work 2 days later. People say there are
complications but I must say I haven't had ANY, people say you don't lose
as much, but I lost approximately 60 lbs in 9 months and went from a size
18 to an 8 in that time. My friends that have had Gastric are now gaining
back the weight, I'm not. I wasn't that heavy though, I was just under
200# and they wouldn't do my surgery here in the US so I went down to
Mexico and couldn't have been more pleased. I have NO SCAR that is
detectable and even my family doesn't know I've had the surgery. I'm
hoping Star had the lap band as I've bought stock in Allergan if it was in
hopes that it shoots up after the big reveal.... crossing my fingers.

Where did anyone see Star Jones looking good, I was afraid to have the
surgery for fear of looking like her. The last time I saw her she looked
all haggard. I frankly thought she looked better with the weight on.
Poor Ms. Jones-Reynolds UGGGGG!!!
