Question:
Liquid Consumption

I am 4 days post op and and getting in 64 ozs + of lfuid a day. Which is a good thing. However I just wondered if anyone finds that strange? I was told it would be hard to get down any liquids at all.    — Carmen Drury (posted on May 26, 2007)

Everyone is different and be glad you are not dehydrating. It is critical if you start to be unable to do so you contact your surgeon post haste. Good luck

Your doing great. I am about 2.5 weeks post op and I am getting my liquids in very easily. Just remember to drink them slowly.

I had surgery Thursday and I'm having a hard time getting my liquids in. I have a lot of pain when sitting up though too, so that might be hindering it for me. Good luck.

I am 5 days post op and the most I have been able to get in is about 50 ozs. of liquids.

I had surgery in Aug 04 and never had a problem with liquids. Fruits I was not able to eat more than a bite or two and still am unable. I think it has something to do with the fructose.
