My friend had it done right about that same time and seems to be stuck @
that same weight loss, but it also slowed down right about the time she
started eating solid foods...

Hi, First Congrats on your surgery, and my God you are doing wonderfull,
you actually lost more then I did and I had my surgery on 6-14-06 and only
lost 36lb as of today.
I know that in whole month of August I did not loose a pound, but I was
loosing inches like crazy. I regrat that I did not meassury myself from
the beggining to see the difference, but in the Month of August I went from
size 24 to loose 20 without my scale moving down. I noticed that stolling
is normal and you should not worry about it as long as you stay on the top
of your protein intake, vitamins, water and excersize your body you must
rememmber is in shack it's like "whait a minute what is going
on??" so it will stoll and hold on to the fat as long as it can but on
the long rung you will see the difference you will feel the difference just
do not warry 2 much
God Bless

Hi Bettye - sounds like you have hit one of the many stand stills that you
will experience... Don't worry you will hit these every few weeks if you
are like I was. I would hit one and then not lose for 3 weeks and then all
of a sudden would drop 5 pounds. Be patient and hang in there, it will come
off. I am down to 124, so it happens! I had my surgery Oct. 21, 2005.
Good Luck!

Bette- first congrats! You will have periods of plateaus- usually you begin
to lose inches during that time. But just be sure you are measuring your
food-eating only what you are supposed to- drinking at least 64 oz water
per day, esercising and taking in your protein. I usually lose 2-5 pounds
per week for about 3 weeks then have a week or so plateau but then notice I
am really losing inches. Keep at it it will come off- Donna lap RNY 4/18/06

It's a plateau--keep doing the right things and soon it will break and you
will see a jump in the scale! These things are a part of the natural
process. Just know you are on the right track! Jen

This was given to me through our OH Support when I hit my first Plateau:
#1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau
#2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day
#3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your
vitamins/minerals supplements each day (some suggest at least 60 and up to
80 gr)
#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a
day
beef
pork
chicken
turkey
lamb
fish
eggs
low fat cheese
cottage cheese
plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?)
You may also have:
sugar free popsicles
tea or coffee
sugar free jello
broths/bullion (sp?)
crystal light drinks
#5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!
#6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily
Hope this help you too as it has me and everyone else who hits the dreaded
Plateaus!

You might just be at a plateau. Are you following your diet, taking your
supplements, getting enough protein, drinking your water, and exercising?

BJ, and other readers...
It is very important that you are feeding your body nutriants in balance...
Remember anyone can lose weight, it is important not to lose muscle mass
due to low protein.
Being skinny with high body fat is not the answer. You should focus on
losing body fat and building lean muscle.
I see so many post op people focus on what the scale sais.
Lets focus on losing an obese mind through a good nutritional plan and
being as healthy as you can be.
Hope this helps to understand, by robbing your body of nutrition daily will
cause a possible way to store fat, along with stress!
Water is vital and should be consuming at least 64 oz a day.
I drink much more than that.
Also be aware that this is about a lifestyle change and without that we
lose focus of our tool. It is very early in your journey, stay focused and
do not blow it, as I once did... Now back on trac and enjoy watching people
change through believing in yourself!
Stay healthy and keep us all posted on your results.
DREAM BIG :O)
Celeste Momin went from 327 to 125 with a very lean body!
Watch out for the next edition of OH magazine to read my story! Now a
figure competitor, I love the new healthy me...
Much Success for all you post op and pre op losers!
It is a fantastic feeling of overcoming an obese mind, learning to deal
with past issues of failure and now changing your lifestyle and working on
planning and impowerment over your new way of thinking!
Hugs,
Celeste Momin
