Hi Ms. Pink - I'm 24 years old as well and I had the same concerns before
my surgery. I'm just after 5 months out now and I'm down 94 pounds from my
heaviest weight (79 pounds since surgery). So far, I have found the skin to
"snap" right back in areas that I'm working out. I don't think
the skin would look as good as it does now had I not been working out. I do
have saggy skin under my arms, but I had that before with the fat. It's
almost guarenteed that at some point I will have to have skin removed, but
so far, I've gone down five size and have no extra skin hanging anywhere! A
good friend, who's younger, went from a size 18 to a 2 and she did have
some extra skin - not as much as one would think though. Hope this helps!

I am 23 yo and had my surgery in August. So far I have lost 120lbs and
have some saggy skin in the stomach, but its not that bad. I had a lot
before. I also have it under my arms but they look much better than they
did before surgery. I have been working out as well and firmly believe
this has helped a lot. Also, I hear that if you keep up on your fluids
then you dont have as many skin issues. (not sure if that is true or not)

The smaller you get the more noticeable the extra skin. With me, I have
loads more extra skin when I weight even 5lbs less than I do right now.
However.......Please don't compare yourself with others on the extra skin
issue, there are too many variables. Genetics, where the fat was heaviest,
age, pregnancies, the direction the wind blows....you get the picture.
Everyone is different.

Hello
I am 26 and just got my RNY. But i think the saggy skin has a lot to do
with yourself. You need to work out and it's depends on how much IB you had
before OP and how much you lose. But keep on working out and you should
have no problem. But even if the Plastic surgery these day have so increase
the can make you look like a 18 year old.

This depends on a lot of factors. I started at 249 and now I am 151 after
10 months. I do have soem saggy skin but not too much. Not enough to make
me get rashes or to get in the way. It really depends on how much your
collagen fibers in your skin are stretched. If you have stretch marks on
your abdomen you are going to have sagging skin. I also have loose skin on
my thighs but my arms look great. So it really depends on where you fat is
distributed and where you lose from. Once collagen is stretched no amount
of gym routine will make it firm again. Good luck to you!

I was let's see now, 27 when i had my surgery and the only skin i really
had a problem with was my stomach. i did end up having a tummy tuck but
probably could have worked a little harder and got rid of it without the
surgery. but my arms and legs all look like i've been this size forever! ;)

I had my surgery in 2001, I went from 397 lbs, currently i am 215lbs. but i
was at 180 for years before baby came along. I had the tummy tuck and
lipoplasty on my stomach, but the rest of the skin on my arms and legs just
hangs........ i hate it, but its hard to get ins. co. to pay for it, so i
deal..... the worst is saggy boobies :( but its a small price to pay :)

Hi!
I am 24, had RNY about 8 months ago (has it been 8 months already?). I am
down 108 pounds since surgery... I don't really have an excess skin issue.
The biggest issue with skin I have is on my thighs... they are just
flabbier than I would like. My stomach, arms, boobs are fine...
I think a lot of it has to do with how you carry your weight. I carried
most of mine in my hips and thighs... You may have an issue with
stomach/arms boobs if you are more of an Apple shape versus Pear. But
everyone is different! Good luck!
Hope this helps!

I'm surprised at all of the answers that say they don't have much in the
way of saggy skin issues. Age is not a factor, and neither is how much you
work out. it's genetics, pure and simple. if you're prone to have wrinkles
in your family, you're going to have saggy skin. I am 2 1/2 years out of
surgery, 37 years old, 5'0", weighed 226 at surgery (240 at my
heighest), worked out like a madwoman between months 3-9, lost 100 lbs, and
looked like a sharpei. My stomach was the absolute worst, my upper arms
look like scrotal skin, my upper thighs like elephant skin, and I have a
bit of waddle under my chin. I just had a circumferential lower body lift
(which lifts the buttocks and outer thighs) with an inner thigh lift, and
some lipo to my mid thighs and calves. I'm four weeks out and have had a
lot of complications. Once i am finally over this hell, it will take me a
long time to get my arms and breasts done (probably only a breast lift, not
implants) because of what i've gone through, but i digress...
there is no way for you to know what you will look like because of your age
or how much you work out. it's genetics - pure and simple. good luck to
you.
