I feel your plight! I am almost 3 mos. and have the same problem. It's due
to ketoacidosis, which your body goes into do to the rapid weight loss. Ask
your nutritionist if you can do sugar free mints or something, but until
that time when the weight loss begins to slow down; there's not much you
can do. It's more of an internal issue. Good luck with your weight loss!!!

same thing happened with me. My urine and breath stunk really bad for a
while after surgery. I'm not sure how long but I am almost 4 months out
now and it is gone.

you arent getting enough fluids so your pouch is dry that is were the bad
breath comes from. just increase your fluid intake. yeah I know easier said

Hi Duane, I too had "bariatric Breath", I bought a little liquid
breath freshner from Walgreens, (near the toothpastes.,) which was sugar
free and would use as needed, as yes drink lots and lots of water. Mine
got better, but now I find that I get a sweet taste in my mouth, but it
doesnt seem to smell like before.. Best Wishes!! April

Welcome to the world of ketoacidosis! I ended buying a tongue scraper to
clean the very back of my tongue where some of the protein will sit. Just
an idea.

Devrom capsules are great for this. They are an internal deoderant. They
can be ordered from 800-453-8898. They have helped my bad breath greatly.

Get in lots of fluids, suck on sf breath mints (I did gum but that wasn't
smart) and brush your teeth throughout the day. Also use mouthwash when you
can. Unfortunately this is a normal thing (but it's for a good reason!) so
maybe just not breath in people's face for a while...sorry can't help more!

I have been using the Listerine pocket strips - they just dissolve on your
tongue and they help a lot. Good luck!
