Question:
WILL GASTRITUS CAUSE PROBLEMS?

There are different kinds of gastritis caused by different things. I had ulcerative gastritis and esophagitis which were caused from GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). I was put on Aciphex and both cleared up in about 8 weeks. I still take the Aciphex to prevent the GERD and gastritis from coming back. I have not had my gastric bypass yet and am still in the insurance approval stage. I'm sure your surgeon will not perform the surgery until it clears up. Have you had an EGD, is this how they know you have gastritis?
