Question:
DOES ANYONE POST-OP USE ANDREW LESSMAN VITAMINS?
DO YOU TOLERATE THEM WELL? CAN YOU OPEN THE CAPSULES AND PLACE THEM IN YOUR FOOD OR DRINK? ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL. THANKS. — PRETTYGRL (posted on October 16, 2003)

Monica, I'm pre-op but have used his vitamins for years. They are the only
ones that don't make me sick after a few days. So I really had some
concerns IF I couldn't take them post-op. So I did quite a bit of research
on them. First my nutritionist said they would be fine (I took in a label
from the package) and that post-op I should be able to swallow the
capsules. Then I called Andrew's company and asked LOTS of questions.
They told me the capsules could be taken apart and mixed with food or water
or juice etc and would still be OK. Many of their clients do this. Then I
called back a couple of weeks ago and asked if I could put the whole
capsules in the blender with my protein drink and crush/mix them that way.
They did some checking and called me back. They said it would do no harm
to do it that way and that it was a great idea. So I added them into my
water, protein mix, frozen fruit and blended extremely well. It did not
change the flavor/texture of the drink and it was very easy to do. This is
how I plan to get them in each day. You could also put them in water/milk
and blend well, then add your protein drink and blend again. I would think
they would work in any type of drink as long as you blended them well in
the blended. If you open the capsules (There are 5 for the daily vitamins
for Women) you could mix them with just water or whatever you wanted with a
spoon .. no blender needed.
