Question:
I will be 4 months post-op on 2/21/03 and have lost 45.5lbs. is this good?
Also, I can eat more lately like a whole sandwich or more. I also have a graving for low fat Peter Pan peanut butter. I know it is low fat but eating alot can be fattening. 3 or 4 tbsps. at a time. I thought we could only hold about 2 ozs. at a time. I can sometime do 8 or more. Is this normal? Is there anyone out there having problems like this? I am worried! — J S. That weight loss is good, congrats to you! When else have you ever lost
that much so soon?! you will see some have lost more, some less, everyone
is different. Try not to compare yourself to others, it will just make you
crazy! I eat low-fat pnb, as well, but I usually try not to have more than
1tbsp b/c of the sugars and fat. So I'd just be careful with that, but
eating alot of it can happen, it's a soft food. As for food weight, it
varies. I am 8 months post-op and can't eat more than 3oz of solid per
meal. But softer things, yogurt or something along those lines, I can eat
alot more! if you are doing 8oz of solid food, I'd ask your doctor, I think
that is quite a bit, but check the density, is it 8oz of chicken, or 8oz of
softer foods like soup, yogurt or eggs? Know what I mean? Do you measure
your food? I know that helps me alot. Also, if you eat slower, you get
full faster and don't eat as much. Everyone is different, like i said, so
people can eat different amounts. But I do know that I can't eat a whole
sandwich at 8 months post-op, so I don't know. Goodluck to you, if you're
overly concerned, ask your doc.

I am four months post-op also --I think your weight loss is good--everyone
is different--but I can barely eat 1/4 of a sandwich without the crust--I
have noticed I can eat a couple of teaspoons of peanut butter--
