Question:
Hi, I am 8 monhs out, and down right around 95 lbs.
The problem is I have not lost much here lately. I would say around 3 weeks!!!!!!! I know I am struggling to get in my protein and fluids. It seems so much harder now during the summer is this normal? I have started drinking Carb Solutions. I really like them alot. I have no idea how much water intake I am getting. Not enough though. I just don't want to eat. lol. HELP. Am I done losing at 8 months out? I ride a bicycle nearly everyday, or I was until I started having alot of work to do around the house. Getting ready to move in new trailor. So I really don't have the time, and I figure I am getting as much exercise doing this as I was riding my bike anyhow. congrats on such a great weight loss! i am only 2 weeks post-op. but i
would say maybe the problem is your fluid intake. i know the number one
rule my surgeon says in water above all. I am getting in 70oz a day and my
doctor says that still isn't enough, he wants me to get more. LOL I know
how hard it is to get it in, but try the best you can, and document it. Try
drinking diet snapple, crystle lite, that counts as fluids. Add lemon to
water to add some flavor, that might help some. It's great that you are
adding carb solutions, that will help you alot! the more protein you add,
the more weight you will lose my surgeon told me. And this 3 weeks may just
be a plataeu, so I wouldn't worry too much, and i don't think you are done
losing at all! you are doing great! :) goodluck!

WOW!!!! You are doing great!! I agree that you need to increase
your fluids. I have the same problem. It is so hard to drink
that much water or any kind of fluid!!!! I never was a big
drinker and I have to force myself now. I am almost 1 yr out and
have lost 95 lbs. I hit plateaus all the time, just KEEP ON
TRUCKIN!!!!! Congrats again on your wonderful progress.

Congrats on your weightloss!!! I am 9 months post op and have really
started slowing down on the loss. I noticed it around 7 months. I think our
bodies have started to adjust to the changes we have made and it is very
normal to slow down a bit. In my oppinion I think the excercise is the key
to boosting the loss a bit. Water also helps. I try to stick to 3 small
meals a day and a snack somewhere in between. I eat a lot of salads with
meat/cheese for the protein. I eat cottage cheese like it is going out of
style. Shrimp is also very high in protein. Are you avoiding the carbs? I
noticed when I eat a lot of carbs my loss basically stops. I don't know how
true this is but from what I have been told walking is the best excercise
you can do so maybe you could try that instead of the bike for a while?? I
think you should be very proud of how far you have come and I'm sure will
continue to do!!! Keep us posted. Kristen

Hi there and CONGRATS! I know it is hard to slow down. I have DRASTICALLY
slowed down since my surgery in Oct. I have lost a total of 111 pounds in
7 and 1/2 months. Now my weight loss has leveled off and continues to go
up and down by a pound or two. These last couple of days I have begun to
cut out carbs. All of them. I mean..some but very little. I also have
increased water intake and started to walk. I heard that we should be
avoiding carbs like the plague and exercise is important. I hope this
helps. Take care and GREAT JOB!

I've plateau'd too. My nutritionist suggested I try boosting my caloric
intake for 3-4 days. She says sometimes your metabolism gets used to a
lower number of calories. She suggests you can fool your metabolism by
increasing intake and then dropping it again. She suggested that I
increase by 400-500 calories for several days. It makes sense. I actually
haven't done this as we are nuts around here just now and I am in an eating
rut until things calm down. Also I am afraid of cutting loose and eating
more for fear the food monster that lives inside will wake up and roar. So
I can't say from experience that it works. But I plan to try it.
