Question:
MY PRIMARY PHY. WILL NOT GIVE REFERRAL FOR MY OFFICE VISIT TO SEE DR. BROLIN.
I AM NOW 246LBS AND MY DOCTOR SAID THAT THIS SURGERY IS ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE RELLY OBESE. WELL, DA ISN'T THAT ME: I AM ONLY 5FT.3IN AND MY CARDIOLOGIST HAS ALREADY SCHEDULED ME FOR A ECHOCARDIOGRAM IN OCT.SINCE IT WAS MY OBGYN WHO DIAGNOSED ME AS MORBIDLY OBESE, SHOULD I ASK HER FOR THE REFERRAL OR GET ANOTHER PCP? — MARLENE M. I would ask your gyn for the referral, I would also check with the
insurance company, ask them what that policy states. If you are unsure about
something, just ask! Just document dates and names. Good luck.

if you have an HMO the referral MUST come from your PCP....
