My prayers are with Lou's family, as well as with everyone facing this surgery -- past and present. Life is so fragile. Having lost my mother recently, I can only imagine the deep, deep grief and emptiness, and sense of loss mingled with happier memories she must be experiencing. I just read Lou's profile. He said his wife was going to fix his "last meal" -- I hope they both savored it. His history and medical conditions are similar to so many of ours--myself included. Can anyone tell us what happened?

My prayers are with Lou's family, as well as with everyone facing this surgery. Bob, I know this must have been especially hard on you having to be the one to report back and forth and knowing your surgery was just around the corner. My heart goes out to you..All of us pre-ops are scared, I'm terrified (we would all be fools not to be scared) My surgery is next week, and my mind has constantly gone over any possible scenarios, however, what it all boils down to is this.. I know this surgery is my only option, my co-morbidities are as such that this is my only salvation. I'm prepared for want ever happens, my house is in order so to speak. Once I made the decision I asked my family not to discuss it again. I have covered all the "what-if" now it's time for me to sike myself up for the long haul and go for the gold. My prayers are with you all.
