Question:
I am about 6 weeks out and I have only lost maybe 2 pounds in the last 2 - 3 weeks. W
I had RNY 1/14/10. I seem to be at a stall. I get all my protein, vitamins and atleast 40 oz. of water per day. I have only lost 2 - 3 pounds the past 2 - 3 weeks. What am I doing wrong? — przybylc (posted on March 1, 2010)

I am only 1 week post. From what I have read they say if you are at a stand
point to change something you are doing.Maybe walk more or drink more
water.

60 grams of protein and 64 oz of water a day is essential. Plus you need
to walk. When I first had my surgery, I would go to my supermarket daily
and walk 20 minutes. it was so funny, all the help knew me and asked me,
how's it going today?

Relax and don't worry. I had the same thing happen....then the weight-loss
started again. I am a slow loser....I even thought that I was the only one
this surgery wouldn't work for! LOL....just try to be patient. For
me...the weight comes off slowly....and I just hang in there. Buy
something new to wear....not expensive....just something that can give you
a little lift. Don't reward yourself with food! Good luck and hang in
there!

You are not doing anything wrong. I had my first stall 4 weeks post-op.
The stall lasted at least 2 weeks. I do not weigh often, but I feel like
it could have been a 3 week stall. I have already had another one, but it
has passed. By not weighing, it do not really get too discouraged. Just
know the weight will come off...just follow your plan.

Good morning. I had VSG surgery in June of 08. You know, I have to remind
myself all the time that it took years of unhealthy eating to put me in the
condition I was in. And realize that if I wasn't eating healthy how much
weight would I have gained? If you really think about it even a 2 or 3
pound loss is so much better than gaining. We all go thru stalls regardless
of which wls we had. Be patient with yourself. It's just your body's way
of adjusting to all the changes. If you continue to follow your
nutritional plan, the weight has no choice but to come off. Encourage
yourself!! You are doing great and getting closer to your goal weight
every day!!! The stalls (and yes, there will be others.... are just like
climbing a hill....it's a little slow going up the hill but, you will come
down the other side speedily. God Bless!
