I was off work for 2.5 weeks. I could drive at this time. It was a little
uncomfortable but all was fine. I too have a desk job so it went ok. I
bring my lunch daily and the eating was a little difficult, but its now 13
months since my gastric bypass & have met my goal and then some and
feel great so it was definitely all worth it.

I had my lap RNY on March 2, and went back to work on March 12th. I had
some lifting restrictions - no more than 15 pounds - for 6 weeks... but
that was all.

Had lap RNY on March 9th. Returned to work March 23rd. My job doesn't
involve lifting and I wasn't supposed to lift more than 10 lbs until
cleared on my one month post op visit.Kevin

I had lap RNY on April 3, and went back to work on April 13. I just worked
half days for the first couple of days, and then was pretty much able to
work a full day. Was really tired though. If you can take more time, that
would be great. I just happen to have one of those jobs where the work
just piles up when I'm off, so I chose to only take one week off. Just
remember to take it easy at first, whatever you decide.

I was off about 10 days total. I have a job that doesn't require lifting
so it wasn't bad at all. I was very tired becuase I am going to school
full time and working full time but other than tired I was fine.
