I'm no doctor, but I personally would not do it. It seems to invasive to do to someone who has had their intestines re-routed at any point in time. Again, I may be wrong. But this is just my opinion and best guess. Be well!

Personally, I think these kind of treatments are not necessary except maybe in some with serious bowel problems and a doctor suggests it...Otherwise a diet rich in fiber is natures pipe cleaners...and along with probiotics, I believe you can you do your body a lot more "natural" good than you can get with colonics! Just my humble opinion...So many people after WLS stop eating grains and fruits because they think carbs make you gain weight...CALORIES make you gain weight..."Basically, the term "fiber" refers to carbohydrates that cannot be digested." They scrub your intestines, soak up toxins and cholesterol and provide nutrients. A good source of fiber is ground flax, seeds, nuts, beans/legumes, whole grains and whole grain cereals fruits and veggies! Read about fiber here at Harvard U: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/what-should-you-eat/fiber/index.html

It's more for detoxing and our colons have fecal matter stuck to our intestines like paste that sometimes natural eating does not move.. The clinic professionals stated that it is safe with 4 or more years post op.

I totally agree with Anita's post above. I have done multiple sigmoidoscopies through the years in my office that are not preped with laxitive, there is no coating of sticky stool that clings to the walls and stays until you flush it out. The concept that there is stool stuck to our intestines like paste is totally false. It is a marketing tool to sell people colonics. The use of fiber to make the stool slicker and more bulky helps it move through quicker so that it doesn't dry out into hard lumps and give you problems with constipation. Please try not to listen to the charlatans out there who have slick infomercials. It is not that using colonics is a bad idea for WLS patients it is a bad idea period. Kevin
