Question:
Has anyone with anyone WLS been concerned about/or had too much weight loss?
Im still unsure about which surgery to get and im still researching, and this was a concern of mine. I dont want to look like Mr. Burns from the Simpsons(lol) I just want to avoid diabetes and be healthy. — bigthighcutiepie (posted on January 31, 2009)

I had Gastric Bypass and I lost 143 lbs total. I did lose too much. But I
am now 18 months out and I have gained 20 lbs back and now I am very happy
with my weight. I had went from a size 22 to a 0. I am now in 2 and 4's.
Good luck with your decision and I wish you the best. Keep in touch.

First of all, are you healthy to start with? Secondly, how much do you
weigh? Most physicians now try to have you lose some weight before your
surgery; as much as you can. You usually have a prescribed diet from them
to get your body used to that type of diet; you will be on soft and liquid
diets for quite a while that is part of the purpose. Also be prepared to
exercise and workout to keep the body active and make your metabolism work
correctly.
I would do all the research and follow the recommended pre-op instructions.
Anyway, Good Luck and God Bless,
