Question:
Has anyone had their doctor stop their period due to severe anemia?

My mother had a hysterectomy because of continued heavy bleeding and
anemia. That was 30 years ago.

I hear that it is all they can do for severe chronic anemia. I was anemic
4 months ago and started taking carbonyl iron (325mgs) daily along with Vit
C as ascorbic acid and with 2 mgs copper (helps absorb iron) and omega3
and CoQ10 for heart and for cell rejuvenation...As well as my regular vits
and B-100 complex that I take weekly. (powder capsules). I also take a
chewable Ester-C at night. It's a non-acidic quality Vit C that stays in
the blood for 24 hours and aids in the Immune system... I completely
reversed my anemia and all my blood went into normal ranges...got my
ferritin from 5 to 16...Still trying to get it up to a better range near
100...but that's a slow process! I had high blood platelets (Sticky clotty
blood) that too came down to normal. I still have deformed blood cells
that are not able to carry oxygen thru my blood but my iron stores are
going up and I am out of danger for now....
Get my new lab results tomorrow! I'm hoping that after 6 months on
Carbonyl Iron (Tender Iron) that I am well on my way to raising my iron
stores! It's scary being anemic...and it would be worth it the risks of
continuing to be anemic and have the cycle stopped...I'd rather do that
than have iron infusions...But I got out of all of that with "Tender
Iron". I use Vitalady for her chewable carbonyl iron...Tastes like
honey and...um...well honey flavored.... dirt! LOL But I got used to them.
Tastes good with a sour vit c! Just comp it all up at once...(But I take
13 iron pills daily) It's not toxic and doesn't have a metalic taste or
messs with your guts and cause pain and sconstipation...Thus the name
"Tender Iron"....I felt better aftertaking it for two weeks...and
was retested 2 months later and was no longer anemic!...Just iron
deficient...Big difference!

I had a problem years ago and I was hemmorageing. My doctor tried many
things to stop it and finally I was given shots of Lupron. I had to take a
shot of it every month on the same day, it couldn't be one day early or one
day late. It put me in medical menopause. I haven't had a problem since
with the exception of the time that I started spotting and it ended up
being a uterine cyste. That was taken out and thankfully it was benigne.
Not a problem since. Lupron is a chemo drug.

Just wanted to update this since I got my lab tests back yesterday...My
Iron is HIGH!!!! Holy moly! Carbonyl Iron (Tender Iron)totally got my
anemia and low iron out of hock! LOL So now I can cut my dosage in half
for 6 months and see where that leaves me. Please consider taking carbonyl
iron. The difference is HUGE!!!!!

I was having major issues with my cycle. My doctor put me on the nuvaring
and instead of following the directions. My doctor told me to keep it in
for 4 weeks and take it out and put a new one in.. You may want to research
that avenue.
