I've been told that for the first 6 mos, pasta is a no-no...and I'd venture
to say that yes, you probably CAN eat them, but should you eat
them...probably not the best food choice as the sodium and fat content is
high...Eating it as a treat once in a blue moon, well we all have our
needs...but on a regular/convenient basis, I know I won't....hth

Some RNY patients have difficulty with pasta. It upsets their stomachs, and
some can't eat at all. Try to avoid Top Romen, as it has high sodium
content. I can tolerated pasta, but angel hair pasta is the easiest for me
to digest. Wider noodles give a lot of patients problems.

I would say AVOID roman noodles all together! If you eat pasta try whole
wheat or something! With any WLS, eating healthy overall is most important!

I cannot. They give me a stomach ache. Something about those long
noodles. Spagetti noodles do the same thing. I can eat larger pasta like
lasana noodles.

Once you are back to eating a regular diet, you could probably eat them.
But.......just because you can eat them, doesn't mean you should.
A serving of Ramen noodles (most packages contain more than one serving)
has a lot of fat, a significant chunk of the fat is saturated. It also has
a ton of sodium as well as MSG. They are high in carbohydrates and low in
fiber...they've also got some sugar added in somewhere.
Bottom line... a small serving every once in awhile isn't going to kill
you, but don't make it a habit.

I had a RNY inJune 2007, at times I will eat the roman noodles, I do ok
with them. I found wheat spag. noodles they have protein in them. I was
told angle hair is the best to eat if your going to. I got sick from reg
ones. good luck. carman
