Question:
Does anyone know how many calories a day we should be eating?
I'm almost 4 months out lap-RNY and 58lbs down. Sometimes I keep a diary of what I eat. Just wonder how many calories most people take in daily. Thank you! — cedonato (posted on September 13, 2007)

I am 5 weeks out and down 20 pounds, sounds like you are doing very well. I
just asked that question myself, and the head of the weight loss clinic
said right around 800 to 900 calories. I was trying to stay around 600 and
she told me to bump it up. Good luck

I am 3.5 months out and I was told this week that I should be taking in
800-900 a day. I have only been getting about 500-600 a day.

I am at 7 months (this Saturday) and I am in between 800-900 somewhere on
average. At 4 months I was around 500-600ish.

800-900 is a good amount for a steady weight loss, 1200 when you are
further out and closer to your goal.

I was only told to eat mostly protein (which makes you feel full) and very
few carbs. If you do that, the rest takes care of itself.
