My question exactly- positive for what? Most of the tests they do pre-op
are for CBC, lipids and liver function tests. While a CBC can give an
indication of an infection it won't specify what type. From my research
most WLS patients have some shift in their liver function tests due to
fatty liver and also have elevated cholesterol. So would need more
information and what test you are talking about,

Are you talking about a positive for Heliobactor? That is a bacteria that
is responsible for most stomach ulcers. I was positive for it as well, and
was treated with a two week dose of a combination of very strong
anti-biotics and prevacid. A month later I had an EGD done to check for
any ulcers prior to surgery. All was normal. The EGD was painless and not
worth worrying about. The anti-biotic was a little strong on my body at
first, but it worked out ok too.
Good luck,
Chris
