Question:
Pain Under Incision

Hi-I am planning on calling my Doctor tomorrow. I wanted some opinions now though. I am 9 weeks post-op. I had a second surgery 3-19-06 for an intestinal obstruction. Since then I have been very sore to the touch under the incision on my right. The one right under my breast. I am eating and drinking okay. Just sore in that spot. It hasn't gotten better or worse. PS The Doctors went thru the same incisions as the first surgery.    — Kayla (posted on April 30, 2006)

Keyla, Since your 2nd surgery was just a little over a month ago, it's probably going to take some time for you body to heal. Your body has been trumatized -- twice -- therefore, the soreness will probably linger for awhile. Have you tried putting ice or heat on the area to see if that will help? What is the doctor saying?

Its most likely bruising in the muscle tissue

Thank you ladies. I think you are right. I think that it feels like it has been longer since the second surgery than it has been. And there probably is a lot of bruising. I am so scared of going in again, I am a bit paronoid now. Thanks again- Kayla
