ON AVERAGE HOW MANY FILLS DOES IT TAKE BEFORE YOUREALLY START SEEING SOME RESULTS
AFTER LAP BAND I AM ABOUT 8 WEEKS OUT AND GOING FOR MY THIRD FILL TOMORROW AND STILL HAVENT LOST BUT 6LBS THAT WAS THE 1ST 2WEEKS NOTHING SINCE. IM STARTING TO BECOME DISCOURAGED MY DR. SAYS I SHOULD BE LOOSING 8-10LBS A MONTH IS THAT THE AVERAGE — KENT (posted on March 15, 2006)

Well, you're technically still in the healing stage, when weight loss is
still considered a bonus. Once you are in the active-losing stage, the
target is 1 to 2 lb per month, so your doctor's estimate is .. shall we say
.. ambitious. :) But to answer your question, it takes at least three
fills to hit the "sweet spot". Good luck!

are you following a food plan? Just having the lapband will NOT make you
loose weight. Your doctor is baseing his 'weight loss' on what the average
person loosing actively dieting.

You should really start seeing some weight loss after your third fill. I
had my third fill about 3 weeks ago and it is really a difference. Until
you get to your third fill you should really practice on chewing your food
to avoid a lot of discomfort.
