i was thinking about doing the biaratic surgery but I have no means of income

i want to do the stomach reduction surgery but im on the county medical services plan and I have no medical and no income what can i do to get teh surgery and how do i apply for dissibility?    — samet (posted on February 1, 2006)

Samet, you might start by contacting your state department of rehabilitation. You could also ask you rep/social worker/contact at county medical services if WLS is covered. You might also post this on the California board. Best of luck. Kasey 365/210 (nonop)

I didn't have an income nor insurance and went and applied for Medicaid to pay for medications I was on. After I got the Medicaid, I started researching the gastric bypass and my surgeon accepted Medicaid
