Question:
Another Blood Pressure Medication...

Is there anyone familiar with this blood pressure medication called Spironolactone? First, any doctors or registered nurses in the house?? I went to pick up some blood pressure medication the other day, at my favorite drug store, and to my surprise, the Pharmacist casually noticed my ankles and how shiny they were...asked me "how long have you taken Benicar 40mg & HCTZ 25mg?". Well, my response was " a very long time", check your records and see for me". With that in mind, the PharmD told me to ask my PCP to consider changing my mediaction since it appears the edema is not responsive and my blood pressure is, oftentimes, at near the level that would, let's just say, "cause some life-threatening health problems". I was just wondering if anyone else knows anything about this medication. I'd like to know how it is affecting you before I ask him. I'm sure that the PharmD would know. He/She (I won't reveal gender or names), would know...even with my WLS in mind. All of *those* medical conditions are trying to creep back into my life. I haven't received the results of all the $2,500 worth of labs and various specialized tests they are doing in the quest to find out about the "abnormal weight gain". Thanks!
