Jennifer - didn't your doctor give you a list of how you are to progress?
if all you are on is water and jell-o - have you had broths?
chicken/beef/vegtable? you can add protein powder to get tons of protein
that way. Once you can tolerate that you can move to creamed soups - like
a cream of mushroom (strained) or tomato... I would call the doctor to see
what their recommendations are. Good Luck with your stages. I am 2 1/2
weeks post op and am starting pureed foods - like mashed potatos, yogurt,
pudding.. and putting protein in all of it.. Good luck!!

I am exactly one week and am feeling sooo sick. I haven't even had any
protein yet. The doctor did give me a list but I have misplaced it. I'm
sure they will tell me again at my appointment on friday but I was
wondering if there are any other suggestions.

You should get a list from your doctor, but then follow your stomach and
eat what you can. I had trouble eating and drinking for months after the
surgery, and still cannot eat some things. Take it slowly. You are like a
baby just learning to eat. Just enjoy losing weight.
Aas for protein, it made me sick at first, too, and sometimes still does.
I have to drink it very slowly. The only one I can tolerate is Isopure
Dutch Chocolate, which I buy in bulk because it is cheaper that way. One
large container lasts several months. I drink it in Hood Carb CCountdown.

Each Doctor has their own protocol, but usually at your stage you should be
able to have Protien Drinks. I was also eating broth, caffine free tea,
pudding (you can add some protein to that). Anything that has a smooth
texture and is not sweet. Try some of these things. I am a Support Group
Leader for Multiple doctors or surgery types and my biggest recommendation
is to call your doctors office and go by and pick up a copy of his/her diet
recommendations.
