What kind of surgery? What ARE you eating & drinking? Sounds good so
far.

You don't say what kind of surgery you had but if you had rny, it seems
five oz. at this stage is really a lot. I thought and maybe I am wrong
that most of us have 1 or 2 oz pouches at the most. If you had another
type of surgery say like the DS you would be able to eat more. Also most
of the surgeons want you to get in 64 oz water a day so try to up your
water intake to eight glasses. But don't worry, I started real slow also
and only in the last month I have started losing faster, so if you get your
protein in 45-60g per day and your water increased, I just know your wt.
loss will pick up. I am sure you are getting your exercise in. Waitresses
have a hard job. Good luck

Take your measurements. Most likely you are losing inches and probably
building muscle mass. NO--muscle does NOT weight more than fat, since a
pound is a pound--but a pound of muscle takes up A LOT LESS SPACE! And
yes, drink all the water you can possibly hold! Keep it up, it will come
off! Best wishes--Terry

I just wanted to point out that you're likely not getting "plenty of
exercise" if your only exercise is waitressing. Exercise to be
effective must be sustained activity that increases the heart-rate for 30
minutes. My mom thought for years she was getting plenty of exercise in
her job (nursing), but the doc laughed and said - nope. You aren't going
constantly. You do a patient and then stand for a minute or stop walking
and do something else that's less aerobic. Kind of off-topic, but thought
I'd point that out. :>) Best of luck to you!

I would suggest upping the water. 5 - 8 0z glasses does not equal 64 oz of
water. And I agree, waitressing is not exercise. You need sustained
aerobic exercise. And what are you eating? Protein based meals? The
amount you are eating is fine, but what are you eating? Don't despair over
30 pounds in 10 weeks, you may be a lightweight that just loses slower.
But we do need more info in order to help you make sure that you are doing
all you can to maximize your opportunity.
