Question:
Is it a standard policy that you must stay in ICU for 24 hrs before being moved .

I have notice that some people had to stay in ICU units. I have had many surgerys and i have never had to stay in a ICU before. That is why i asked this question.    — Mindy M. (posted on February 13, 2000)

I am not sure what other operations you have had but I believe that it is because of the severity of this operation. It is a major operation and you are, for lack of better words, rearranging oragans that are vital to survival. I also believe that it has to do with the fac that you are talking about severly obese people here, too. Most of them have some kind of other health problems to be dealt with as well. This is only my opinon but you could check with your doctor.Good luck-Tasey:)
