Just be patient. You'll be eating solid food again in no time. In the
meantime, add protein powder to everything you can. Contact a company like
BariatricChoice.com for supplements designed specifically for WLS patients.
They have shakes, soups, and puddings that are full of more protein,
vitamins, and nutrients than similar products you will find at your local
store. I recommend using their pudding mix. Use milk instead of water,
and even add an egg for extra protein. For example, if it calls for 1/2
cup water, place the egg in the measuring cup first, then the milk until
you reach 1/2 cup. Or just substitute milk for the water. It still has
protein and vitamins that water does not. If you find your still hungry
more than 3-4 times a day, just use the water (as it has fewer calories and
fat than milk). I think you'll find the high protein/vitamin enriched
shakes and puddings help.
Be sure to make all of you appointments with your surgeon (during your
first year post-op esp.) as that is when he/she will be adjusting your band
to maximize your sensation of fullness, and helping you find the best level
for successful weight loss. (I'm 5 years out and still see my surgeon
about every 2 months just to make small adjustments and make sure we have a
good relationship in case a problem should arise (which has happened within
the last 6 months).
