Question:
Has anyone had slippage after lap band surgery?
If so, how did you know? — Char-Ree C. (posted on June 17, 2009)

Yes, my husband had lap band slippage about 4 months ago. He was coughing
alot and throwing up. His doctor loosened him up and then maade an appt.
to be seen under the x-ray machine. His band had slipped. He decided to
have the band taken out and have the bypass done. While waiting on
approval from the insurance his became an emergency because he couldn't
keep anything down. He had the bypass on April 3rd and is doing great.

I have had a slippage too. I couldn't keep anything down at all, not even
water. I made the mistake of going to my local emergency room as I thought
I had the flu. I was lucky and my band was able to be fixed as I had no
swelling. I had such a pain in the middle of my chest. My best advice to
you, if you think you have a slippage, notify your band surgeon imediately.
