Question:
Good Morning, Does anyone know what the best scale is?
I have 2 and they both say 2 different #'s. That is normal i realize, but 10 lbs off. I like the ones with the low #, but I need or would like to get some scales I can count on. I don't want to spend a whole bunch of $. Thank you for any advise. Take Care and God Bless You and Yours. — prdurham (posted on May 25, 2009)

Pam I agree with you I have on that is 3 pounds off then the doctors scale
at the doctors office. I agree with the above comment go to Costco. I went
to Target, and if this scale that I'm using now goes up any more then three
pounds I will be getting a new one. We need a good scale to use and not one
we have to figure out what our weight realy is. Good Luck to you. Theresa L

I have one that I purchased online - brand name Siltec. It has always
coordinated well with my MD's. It has a large glass plate for standing,
lighted digital display that measures by 0.2increments and will weigh up to
440lbs. Mine is about 3 years old and is still working. It has a lithium
battery which I haven't had to change yet. I just sent one to my parents
at Christmas and it cost about $90 with shipping and handling. That may a
bit pricey but well worth the money.

I'm glad you asked this question. I recently bought one at Walmart and it
consistently weighs at 20 lbs MORE than the dr's scale! I was quite happy
with what the doc's scale said after I had weighed at home prior to going
in... whew! lol

Hi there...I bought the Conair Weight Watcher's Scale because my daughter
had it. I wish I'd read the reviews first... everyone hated it. Me, too.
It consistantly weighed me wrong. I could get on it and off and then wait
a few minutes and get back on, and it would weight me with a 2 to 5 pound
difference. So, I took it back. Then, got online and started looking. I
found a scale called the Omron Total Body Composition Scale, and it comes
in several models and prices. It measures 5 or 6 things, like weight, BMI,
body water %, skeletal mass something or other, visceral fat %, and it has
settings for 4 people, plus guests. Of the reviews, it consistently got 4
and 5 stars. I bought mine at J & R's (online), because it was about
half the price they wanted at Amazon.com and other places, plus had the
least expensive shipping costs. It 's the model HBF-510 (they have several
models, each one a little more or less expensive) And it ships in one to
two days. I will let you know how I like it after I've had it a couple
days.

I have the Weight Watchers Digital Glass & Chrome Scale and so far it
is dead on. My Husband weighed himself at a friends and then at home on
our new scale and it is exactly the same weight. I also had to weigh at
the Dr then came home and the weight was the same.

After going through buying and taking back 3 sets of scales, I decided just
to buy a cheap dial scale. After I went to the doctor and was weighed on
theirs, I came home and set it to what the doctors said. I haven't had any
problem since. I use my Wii fit for the BMI. It always seems to be pretty
consistent. The difference between the two of them is that I weigh myself
first thing in the morning on the scales, and then in the evening I play
the Wii fit, so there is always a difference in weight between the 2. I
use the first morning weight for my actual weight.

Pam, this was really a good question. I had been thinking about getting a
scale and knew nothing about brands or models and gave no thought to asking
OH friends. Now I have my answer too! Maureen - Akron, Ohio

I bought a "My Weigh XL-550" digital scale from amazon.com. It
is great! It has a large base to stand on, 550 lb capacity, AND it TALKS!
