i'm so grateful for a place like this to have so manyh supportive members. Your responses have given me many ideas and reasons to succeed. You're doing it and I can be one of you. Hi Janet, Good luck with your up coming surgery! You will do great, it will be one of the best things you have ever done for your self! I have some tips for you, and I know they will help you, everyone has been great with all of the advice and things for you to try,I am going to do some of them even, see that advice you got has even helped me out and I am quite sure even more! I had GBP 12-28-06, and I am doing great. My problems are different than most on here, I am a parapledgic, so I have to do most things different since I can't walk. The stretch bands will work great for you, start out by doing a few sets of stretchs, maybe a couple of times a day, then add more each day or so, then when you are watching TV even do some then, it will help. I do push ups from my chair, so sit in a strong chair that had arms and lift up your bottom, sit back down and do it again, try maybe 5-10 the first few days, then build your self up to do more, then maybe do 20 at one time, and do it maybe 3 times daily, as you build muscle and get stronger try holding each push up a little longer, I promise you after a while you will get a good work out, and you will feel better and you will burn calories. You can also sit in a chair and try to touch your toes, do a few of them,several times a day, it will get your blood flowing good and you will know you worked out!ha You can also do leg lifts from a chair, actually you can just about do most exercises from a chair or bed, you just have move, it doesn't have to be perfect,make up your on little exercises with things you do thru out the day, when you stand by the sink doing dishes, put some rock and roll music on have fun shake what your momma gave you!ha! Make it fun, have your grand kids come work out with you,they will be inventive and come up with some fun and probably wild things!Sorry for the long post, I just hope I can help you or anyone that needs it.Janet I will be keeping you in my prayers, God bless you and yours.Leatha
