I have a red splotchy rash on the lowest hanging perimeter of my arms, and a brown rash under a fold. Never had either before. Has anyone else had these and know what causes them, cures them? — lorannw (posted on March 8, 2009)

I would talk to you Dr and take pictures and have dr log it into your
medical records ... it will help if you decide to get skin removal. good
luck

Also, Monostat makes a gel to powder product that is very helpful. Most
likely the rash is caused by friction and perspiration of the hanging/loose
skin and folds.
The Monostat product is sold as a boxed tube for about $8 at the drugstore.
May be slightly less at Target or Walmart - in the pharmacy department
around the antifungle or women's products.

The rash could be yeast if it has a smell. The monostat will work well on
that. You doctor can give you a cream to clear it up. Just keep a record so
if you try to get your insurance to pay for skin removal you have cause.

I agree with the others...Go see a doc and have them documented often into
your medical records...Chronic rashes can get you free plastic surgery to
remove that skin if your insurance covers that! flaps of skin will get
sweaty and moist and that is what causes this...hanging skin can also cause
tearing too...and the infections from these rashes can be bigger problems
if they go on chronically...So please do go tot he doc and get on meds
because while free skin removal might seem very attractive...chronic
infections can make you very very sick. SO take care of them...Take photos
and date them as well if you want a really good case! But don't let it get
worse and worse!
