Means you should just have a regular cheeseburger -- no doubles and eating
it with the bread fills you up. I don't think it's bad to have a
cheeseburger -- but the fact that it took you an hour to eat it (no fries
right?) means you should just stick with the single and no bread. At least
that's what I think. I didn't eat a burger until I was year out either --
with no bread. I'm a hamburger critic -- one of my most favorite foods --
don't do the fries so much anymore though -- come to think of it -- don't
do a lot of potatoes -- not like I did before surgery. My last meal before
surgery was burger and fries and an oreo shake from Fuddruckers -- haven't
been back to them since.

I haven't had my surgery yet... I hope to have it in February. But to be
honest, I can't imagine eating a hamburger - whether from Micky Dees or
anywhere else, at all....not after going through so much to have your
surgery. I have been on a very high protien, very low carb, low fat diet
per my surgeon's dietician ever since I made the decision to do this back
in September, and she made it crystal clear that I could only have stuff
like lean, skinless chicken breast; grilled fish; lean turkey; tofu; etc.
As far as carbs, I've been told I cannot have ANYTHING white - no bread, no
rice, no potatoes, no pasta, no popcorn. I CAN have whole grain stuff, but
I've found that they have more carbohydrates than I'm allowed per meal. And
I've been told "no salad and no soups" either, because they are
"too liquidy" and will just go right through my system without
leaving any nutrients behind. And I've also been told that I cannot have
more than 8 grams of fat nor 15 grams of carbs per meal (which is why the
whole grain stuff doesn't work for me, because even one slice of bread is
like, 19 carbs). I've been scrupulously following this eating plan,
because I want so badly to be successful in this life altering program.
But, from another thing my dietician told me - that I have to cut my food
into the size of peas and chew each bite 30 times after my surgery, I can
see that it might have taken you a VERY long time to eat a double
cheeseburger. So, all things considered, I don't imagine that an hour is
all that unusual.

hi, if you have no option but to get a burger, then take off half the bun,
and eat what you can with in 20 min or so. I am 5 + yrs and on occasion i
have had a burger from Mc'd but only half the bun and then i only can eat
3/4 of it or i will get sick.
Good luck to you,
MaryLyn

Eating a double cheeseburger from McDonald's is bad no matter HOW long it
takes! Try eating smaller portions. Try eating healthier meals. The
whole reason we had the weight loss surgery was to correct the bad
behaviors that we had gotten into. Try a grilled chicken sandwich instead
of the double cheeseburger. Try a grilled chicken salad instead of the
sandwich. Hope this helps. Hugh

I think it is bad. How could you eat a double chese burger with the bun and
not vomit? Maybe you should take the bun off and just get a single chese
burger. I don't understand how your pouch could strech out that much. I
would of been vomiting all over the place. When in doubt cut it in half. I
don't want to mean to you. But that is just my what I think

If there is absolutely nothing else to eat when you are out and about, a
cheeseburger without the bun is not too bad a decision, still not the
healthiest decision. Hardees has a low carb burger which is wrapped in
lettuce instead of a bun. The bun didn't make you sick? Why did you take
one hour to eat? I thought we were supposed to eat what we can in 15 mins
or so until we are satisfied and then to stop? Try to make the best
decisions and you'll do great.

WHAT IN THE FREAKIN WORLD ARE YOU EATING A FREAKIN CHEESEBURGER????? that
surgery is NOT a miracle cure -- its a TOOL -- i had my surgery aug 7 2008
and i havent even attempted a cheeseburger or any burger of any kind since
july -- i have only lost 43 since my surgery and i think it should be more
but i just have to try harder to make this tool work for me -- but it wont
work eating cheeseburgers and such -- we have to take this tool and run
with it -- use it to your advantage -- IF YOU ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU ALWAYS did
YOU WILL ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ALWAYS GOT -- take this tool and make it work
for you -- eat your protien FIRST -- nice lean protien -- then your veggies
-- and then if you have room or feel you need more take a couple bites of
starch or dessert- we all have hard times and cravings -- this tool is what
we need to use and help us over that -- just because you have the tool
doesnt solve alot -- our minds have to be conditioned too -- you are in
control -- no one else controls what goes in your mouth but you -- you cant
blame anyone but yourself what you eat-- i have had to learn this the hard
way!! i have had to work alot with my mind and trying VERY hard not to eat
the things i used to -- please dont eat a 30 gram of fat burger -- if you
are at mcdonalds there is several things you can choose besides that --
there is fruit, there is yogurt parfeit, there is grilled chicken, YOU make
the choices for your body -- its the only body you will have -- you have to
take care of it now so it will take care of you later. you have to think
about how you got in the shape you was before surgery and dont make those
same mistakes. take care of yourself so you can grow old and enjoy
grandkids and great grandkids etc-- dont eat anymore cheeseburgers -- they
dont pay you back very good lol - just by adding to the rear -- we dont
need that
