Question:
Surgery Date 10/28 or close to that...How are you doing?
My surgery date was 10/28. I losing good weight and I exercise and I am follow the rules perfectly. I am still a little tired, especially after exercise and I tend to be a little snappy, but I may have been that way before surgery (haha.) I just wanted an update on others who had their surgery around the same time as I did. — SharonZ (posted on November 22, 2008)

My surgery date was 10/27/08. I am exercising and eating right, drinking
right with no problems. I do still get tired easily, I just take a nap when
I need to. My main problem is I have stopped losing weight. I lost the
first two weeks on a liquid diet, but since introduced to the soft food. My
body has shut down and wont lose a pound. I had the sleeve. I never was in
pain from the moment I woke up in the hospital. I say everything went well.
I just cant wait to start losing weight again. I herd it can take some time
for some people.

Good Morning,
From what I remember, my doctor(Homan) told me not to do any exercise for
about 3 months. That might be the reason for you being very tired. Good
luck with your weight loss.

I had my surgery the date you asked your question. I was like a baby,
cranky, sleepy and a bit weak. As the weeks have progressed so has my
energy level....I'm still not wanting to run a race but no naps; however,
.....occasionally I'm still cranky...LOL Character defect of mine, I like
my own way.
Hope you're feeling better.

Hi, I had my RNY surgery on 10/15/08, was in the hospital for four days. I
haven't had to take any pain relievers since being released and have had an
amazing recovery. I've felt so good. Had a difficult time with the liquid
thing and getting enough protein. The protein shakes almost gag me and
have been trying all different kinds to see what might work best (without
breaking the bank!) But, I have lost 44 lbs. in the past six weeks so I am
very happy with that. I started my excersize program about a week ago. I
get tired out faster than before but I also know I've lost a lot of muscle
tone. I've also started lifting weights for my arms and doing stomach
crunches. This has not bothered my stomach at all.
I also notice that my taste buds have totally changed. Eating is so
different. I now know what it's like to eat because I have to, not for
entertainment! (ha ha). Otherwise I could probably go all day on just
Crystal Light. Sometimes eating is a chore because nothing tastes good.
But, a wonderful thing is my family has gone out to dinner a few times and
we've only had to buy three meals. I eat a few bites off of my husbands
plate and I'm full and content. (Too bad it never tastes as good to me as
it should). BUT, I'm not complaining! =) Anyway, Thanks for your
update...I've probably written more here than you wanted to know! =)
Happy Holidays,
Rebecca

I had my RNY 10/16 and I'm doing ok. Two weeks before and after surgery I
was on liquids and was pure evil, think I'm pretty much back to normal now.
On normal food and on track according to my surgeon. Only probs are getting
my water in and having no energy in the morning.

I had my surgery on 10/28. I have lost over 22 pounds since surgery. The
only exercise I have been instructed to do is walking, so I haven't been
cranky afterwards. I had a successful surgery and a good recovery. I
still do get a little tired during the day, but I think that is because our
body is still healing itself and we probably push ourselves too much. Good
luck!

My surgery date was 10/20. To date, I've lost 27 pounds. I'm never
hungry, and feel good. Excercise is still not easy, but I'm sure it was
get easier as I continue to lose.
