Question:
lap band on 6/24, on stage 2, how much should i eat and how often??
i mostly eat mashed potatoes and pudding because that is all i like. i eat about a 1/2 a cup 3-4 times a day of potatoes and 1 or 2 small puddings....is this enough, to much??? my stomach still growls but i am not necessarily still hungry after this — jordanty (posted on July 3, 2008)

If you are on mushies......you need to pick items that are high in
protein.....refried beans with melted cheese......cottage
cheese........vienna sasuage........remember that you can no longer pick
just the items you like .......you should be eating 1/2 to 1 cup of food
three times a day........if you have no restriction then you need to keep
full with liquids in between your melas.....do not drink with your meals as
it will wash what you eat out of your pouch and you will feel hungry
quicker.......take tiny bite and chew till it's mush......you HAVE TO HAVE
AT LEAST 65 GRAMS OF PROTEIN A DAY. this is a lifestyle change and you need
to limit your carbs....you can have them but spareingly......stay away from
breads.....pasta...potatos and use them a a traet......your stomach will
growl alot more now but that does not mean you are hungry.......remember
that the band is around yout stomach and not your head ...so you will need
to still work on issues you had in the past with food......you can
generally eat whatever you want but make sure you eat your protein
first.....the band is just a tool and it is only as good as you let it
be.......so keep your portions in check and make good choices......Pam / Ft

Pam is correct in this matter. WEEK 2: Continue the full liquids and you
may start incorporating soft foods, such as oatmeal, eggs etc.

Must agree, the mashed or any potatoes are a definate no no. If you are
allowed soft food, stay with scrambled eggs, cottage cheese etc. Any carbs
are definatly no good for you at this point. In order for you to gain the
most amount of weight you should restrict yourself to 3oz of protein 3
times a day. Sorry for the bad news..

Have to agree, potatoes nd pudding are NOT what is in the lap band
nutitional plan. You might want another visit with your
nutritionist/dietician to go back over the approved and not approved foods.
You need to be eating high protein, then veggies if you have room. Several
good suggestions in previous posts.
