It would help to know which type of WLS you had. That said, I would refer you to your bariatric surgeon and/or nutritionist as they should have given you very specific, detailed instructions on what to eat during each stage of your post-op journey. Dawn Vickers, RN, BLC, CLC

Your surgeon or the Nutritionist you most likely had a visit with before surgery should definitely have given you fairly detailed written instructions on the various Food Stages, (Stage 1, Stage 2, etc.). If they didn't I would be calling them asking them why... Also, there are books on Gastric Bypass Surgery or Lap Band you can read, try Amazon.com. Best wishes.

Which ever surgery you had, definatly speak to your doctor. My wife had Lap-Band and her Dr. recommends for all his bariatric patients the same diet protien, protien, protien. The best way to remember that is hat if it had a mother it is protein. Good luck

Your Profile says RNY. I still have to agree with the other posters in that you should be following the guidelines given to you by your surgeon. I had the VSG, so I am not much help in recommending guidelines for the RNY. By this time, I was pretty much eating EVERYTHING. This is what MY surgeon had recommended for ME with MY procedure. YOUR recommendations may be DIFFERENT. They PROBABLY are. Find your booklet or ask your surgeon. If you cannot, try to find someone who has had the same procedure with the same surgeon and ask THEM what they have in THEIR booklet. I hope this helps, Hugh
