YES! I thought I was the only one. I asked my doctor about it and he looked
at me like I was crazy. I guess it's more common to be the opposite. I had
the band placed last May and I just don't have any desire. I feel bad for
my husband, but I just don't want it at all. What's up with that!?!

Yep. I have no desire to have sex with my honey. I started before surgery
and now - zero desire - in fact I am probably in the negative. Haven' seen
the doc yet - in between insurance. One insurance to Cal-COBRA to another
insurance and of course - no one seems to want to move quickly. So after
2/1...it's off to the doc I go. Good luck.

I'm in the same place. I was very voracious prior to my late
30's...couldn't get enough sex. Then the weight really piled on and by the
time I had my surgery my desire was nil. Now, after losing 67 pounds since
July, and being 3 mos. post-op now, I still have no desire. I can't even
get THAT excited about time alone with my spouse...and he's a great guy.
It's sad. I tried just putting my mind into it...but that didn't work
either. I just don't have it in me any more. I wondered if it's hormones,
age, as I turned 40 in August, or what it is. I'm to the point where I
want a sex elixir..smile....something that makes me hot for my honey!
SMILE... good luck sweetie...if you get an answer...let me know....and just
know you're not alone dear! Hugs...Cheryl

I've listened to dozens of bariatric patients at support groups mention
this. Many suffer from a diminished sex drive intially. But your body has
just had a major trauma--surgery--and this may throw your natural feels to
a non-nomral state. But, most of the women also say the urge comes back
after a few months, and many say it's increased. WARNING: your fertility is
greatly enhanced as you loose weight. My surgeon warns every woman that her
chances of getting pregnant are at a peak a few months post op. So remember
this. I know of at least 3 women who got pregnant after surgery--and 2 of
them had been trying to have children for years.

Prior to the surgery, it was difficult to get into the mood for various
reasons, but after the surgery there has been a tremendous increase in
desire for more sex and in other areas ;-). Give it some time, and then
watch out....

Ok I read where the urge for sex comes back. But I am 7 1/2 months out and
135 lbs down and I still have no desire what so ever for it. Before
surgery I always wanted it. How long does it take to get the desire back.
I have a great hubby and I am really scared he will go look else where. If
we do anything it takes forever for me to get in the mood or as someone
else posted, I have to fake it. You are not alone but I wish I had
answers!

I've experienced the same. I have a big decrease in libido since surgery.
Any experts out there who can shed some light upon this, please reply. I'm
7.5 months post op and still waiting for lightning to strike.
