It's always a safe idea to call the PCP or surgeon or NUT. But on the other
hand, my experience is - it happens. There are days when I am fine and
tolerate food well. Then there are the days - that I DO NOT TOLERATE
ANYTHING!! I go through spells. I can eat the same thing for a month and
then one day - it makes me dump. Go figure. Our new pouches and the old
body are at war sometimes, I think. It's crazy. I go through it, too. In
fact, last Friday-Sunday were not good food days for me. As I like to put
it. UGH. If it lasts or much longer - I would call and find out what's
going on. But rest assured, it happens to me too.

I would call my doctor. You could get really sick if you're not eating
right. Let us know how it turns out.

The same thing happens to me. I'm 6 months Lap RNY and I have days when I
can eat well then other days the thought of eating makes my stomach hurt.

Many of us will have a day where we'll have some discomfort- or where we
just are not processing what we are eating all that well. However, three
days is extreme. First, it could be a sign of a blockage-- the fact that
you need to lie down to get some comfort and that you are getting exhausted
after eating could be a sign that food is moving very slowly through your
intestine. Also, it could reveal that your stoma has narrowed (a
stenosis). In any event, once symptoms like yours last more than 24 hours,
you need to get prompt medical attention. And remember, any symptoms
combined with sharp abdominal pain should be treated immediately.

I had that the first 5 months off and on, mostly on but now I only get
maybe a couple times a week or sometimes not a all. I'm 9 months post-op
and my friend tells me it gets better as time goes by, but I would call my
doctor just to be sure that all else is good.
